We are looking for a Scientific Officer for the Plant Protection Products Residues Unit.
Responsabilità
- Keep abreast of scientific and regulatory developments and provide information on legislative, policy and scientific aspects in the respective field;
- Search or obtain data and information, collect and collate them for preparing scientific materials;
- Analyse and evaluate data for preparing working documents related to the scientific assessment;
- Draft and review scientific outputs through the provision of evidence-based risk assessment;
- Provide administrative and scientific support to the activities of the respective Panel and Working groups;
- Participate to the development of guidance and methodology documents;
- Provide technical support to manage contracts and procurements, including monitoring procedures;
- Communicate and present scientific outputs by conveying the right messages and by making scientific concepts understandable to the public;
- Ensure coordination with European, national and international stakeholders within the scientific activities of the organisation.
Functie-eisen
- Excellent knowledge of English (at least C1 level);
- Master's degree or above in life sciences (i.e. Food Science, Veterinary Medicine, Chemistry, Biology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Environmental, etc.);
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in collecting and collating evidence, writing and reviewing scientific documents, analyzing and interpreting data with statistics, managing and coordinating networks and projects;
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, as well as data and information management;
- Working with others, analysis and problem solving, drive for results, resilience and composure.
Assignment: initial contract 2 months, with possibility of extensions. Expected duration of assignment 6 months.
Salary: approx €3100 per month before taxes.
Work modalities: Office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from Parma for the remaining days.
